hello, i'm cheryl anne v. you can call me cheryl -- it's pretty much what EVERYONE calls me. although, i've been called other things, i'd prefer if you stuck to the "norm". i have been told that i have been the creative type. as a youngin', i was obsessed with coloring books and crayons. i still am. i grew up in a family of musicians and artists which developed a keen interest in everything to do with graphic design - you would probably call this an obsession too. i'm generally crazy about colors and shapes.
i am a freelance graphic design based in the greater los angeles area. i started off as a production artist at media revolution and from there, i had obtained a lot of knowledge working with the masters in web design. they taught me how to create beautiful and functional websites, logos, and printed materials. they had given me every opportunity to expand myself and diving into it. since the company has closed it's doors, i have been freelancing and it has given me the opportunity to be part of exciting, unique, and sometimes strange projects.
when i can find the time to pry myself away from the computer, i am in the process of starting another business venture - crochet! since i like to think outside of the box, these crocheted items are not your normal "granny square" or just "square". you can find my pieces for sale on etsy.
besides being interested in visual things, i have got a particular fondness for books & music. i love the words of jack kerouac, william burroughs, allen ginsberg, albert camus, neil cassidy, and diane di prima. what fascinates me about these authors are how they see life and live it their own way regardless of restrictions. their style brings black & white to color. only the combination of the two creates meaning and beauty. the same is true for design. good design needs a basis (which can be many things, depending on the kind of project), details and nuances are important. details that can make such a difference. with over 5 years of experience within corporate marketing, design agencies, and freelance environment -- my portfolio is extensive. |
